Our Story From Repair Shop to Engine Experts
Our business started in 2015 as Iconic Performance Cycle, a general powersports repair shop in Mahwah, NJ. We quickly encountered a common problem: slow turnaround times, as we had to rely on outside machine shops for critical engine work. There were simply no local shops that could handle the precision required for small motorcycle cylinder heads quickly and properly.
Leveraging our experience in engine machining, we made a decisive move. We opened a full in-house machine shop when we moved to our West Milford location. Over time, our engine building and machining services became the most sought-after part of our business. We embraced this niche, focusing solely on engines and machining to ensure the highest quality and fastest turnaround times for our customers.
Precision is Our Priority
At REW, quality is our number one priority. We take immense pride in our work, and cutting corners is simply not in our DNA. Whether it's a simple fix on a vintage machine or a high-end, custom build for your pride and joy, we guarantee the work is done to the highest possible standard of quality and precision.
Meet the Owners: Bret & Kevin
Bret, co-owner and operator, founded the business in 2015. Bret's career began at a popular engine machine shop where he quickly rose to run the cylinder head department. His passion for motorcycles and off-road bikes—which started with tinkering on everything from lawn equipment to his moped—eventually led him to turn his mechanical knowledge into a dedicated business.
Kevin, co-owner and Bret’s father, joined the journey in 2020. Kevin brings a lifetime of experience in the automotive industry, having also worked in engine machine shops, fleets, and general repair. As a kid, Kevin was the one who always had to take things apart to figure them out and put them back together.
Together, Bret and Kevin share a naturally high level of "figure it out" skill. You can rest assured that they approach every job with honesty, fairness, and a commitment to solving any challenge—even if it's something new.
